An Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining aircraft to ensure safety and compliance with aviation regulations.

AMEs work on the ground to keep aircraft airworthy. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) regulates AME training and licensing in India

Qualification / Requirements
  • Educational Requirement: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics OR/ a Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Aeronautical Engineering.

  • Age Requirement: Minimum 16 years to enroll in an AME program.

  • Medical Fitness: Must meet DGCA medical standards (Class 2 medical preferred).
